Transaction Fees

Stageworks give you options when it comes to transaction fees

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Stageworks is free to use and to sell tickets. When you sell tickets through the platform we deduct a small fee to cover the cost of the platform. This fee is split into Processing Fees and Service Fees.

Processing Fees

Processing fees are the costs associated with processing the payment through the Stageworks platform. We partner with Stripe to provide credit and debit card processing as well as digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Stripe charges a standard fee of 2.9% + $0.30 for every transaction. This fee is deducted from your payouts.

Service Fees

Service fees are the what Stageworks charges per ticket to cover the cost of the platform. The standard service fee is 3.9% of the ticket price.

You have options for how to handle that fee:

  1. Include it in the Price (Recommended)
We mark up your ticket price to include the fee. This makes your pricing transparent to your patrons with no surprises.

  2. Add it as a separate fee
The service fee is included as a separate fee. This is what most ticketing systems do.

  3. Absorb the fee
We don't mark up the price or add a fee. The service fees are simply deducted from your payouts.

You can set a default Service Fee Handling in your Organization settings and you can change how you handle service fees for each event series.

Set Your Default Service Fee Handling

Click on the Settings link in the bottom of the sidebar. Scroll down to the service fees section.

This default will apply to all new and existing event series unless you override it at the event Series level.

Override the Service Fee Handling

You can change the service fee handling for an event series by clicking on the series in the Events page and going to the Settings tab.
