Marketing Email Limits

Stageworks marketing features are free with generous limits based on your activity.

How it works: Every Stageworks organization gets a monthly email allowance that grows automatically as you use the platform. You start with a base of 500 marketing emails per month, and unlock additional capacity by reaching milestones.

Example: An organization that has connected Stripe, published an event, and processed $1,000 in revenue would have a monthly limit of 27,000 emails (500 base + 500 + 1,000 + 5,000 + 20,000).

How revenue milestones are measured

Revenue milestones are based on your average monthly revenue from completed orders and donations. When a milestone is checked in real-time (e.g., after a ticket purchase), it looks at the current month. During the monthly evaluation, it uses a 3-month rolling average to smooth out seasonal fluctuations — so a single slow month won't immediately reduce your limit.

What happens if revenue drops

Limits are re-evaluated monthly. If your revenue no longer qualifies for a milestone, the system uses a gradual step-down approach: only one milestone can be lost per evaluation period, and it will always be the smallest one first. This prevents a sudden, dramatic drop in your email capacity.

When your limit decreases, the admin users on your account will receive an email notification letting you know what changed.

Approaching your limit

When you reach 80% of your monthly email limit, a warning banner appears in the admin dashboard on the Messaging settings page. If you hit 100%, you'll be prevented from scheduling or sending additional marketing emails until the next calendar month or until you unlock the next milestone.

Tracking your usage

You can view your current usage, milestone progress, and a 12-month usage history chart under Settings > Messaging in the admin dashboard. The page shows:

  • Your current month's usage vs. your limit

  • Which milestones you've completed and which are next

  • A bar chart of your sending history over the past year

When do limits reset?

Email limits reset on the first of each calendar month. Unused emails do not roll over.
